Why Hemp Clothing
Is hemp really better than cotton?
Hemp is more sustainable the stronger than cotton!
When it comes to clothing, most of the products we used to wear are primarily made from cotton. But, did you know, hemp is much eco-friendlier? In fact , it can take up to 2,700 liters of water, .22 lbs of fertilizer, .1 lbs of pesticides and 1.2 pounds of fossil fuels to make a single t shirt! *that’s enough water for one person to drink for 2.5 years*
Not only is hemp superior to cotton for it’s eco-friendliness, but is also 3-8x stronger than cotton. The word “canvas” is actually derived from the word “cannabis.” Due to the strength of the hemp fiber, hemp has been used to make everything from ship sails, wagon covers and clothing. Levi Strauss once even used hemp to make his famous jeans.
